Katana Displayed at “Masters of Fire” Exhibit, Now Available

The piece by Michael Bell displayed at the Macau Art Museum’s “Masters of Fire” exhibit in 2006 has just become available.

The katana, 28 inch nagasa, with bohi,  is constructed of composite cable.

Silver habakiKoshirae in han-dachi style in shibuichi with gold shitodome.

Pierced tsuba of folded antique wrought iron in the Higo style of floral motif. Silver and gold Buddhist ken menuki. Tsuka wrapped in brown silk ito over black lacquered same-kawa. Polychrome lacquered saya.

The katana comes in a handmade sword bag with a copy of the museum exhibit catalog signed by Michael Bell.

    Absolutely beautiful, Excellent functional swords are hard to find in this country do to a flooded market of fakes. But that is a exquisite blade

    Breathtaking work. Masterful,worthy and equivalent of any Japanese master of old or today.So sad that due to the high(but absolutely justified)price and moreover to the fact that I am Greek (importing a weapon is complicated business)I will never be able to own one of your masterpiece swords. Just looking at the pictures though is pleasing beyond description.speechless. Just speechless
